WK 6: The Blood of the Guilty

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭27‬:‭1-‭10‬

Avenger – a person who inflicts punishment, harm, or vengeance in return for an injury or wrong done to themselves or others.

Jesus is our blood avenger.

Our betrayal of Jesus often speaks to our lack of belief in Jesus.

Blood Avenger — A person legally responsible for carrying out vengeance when a family member has been unlawfully killed or murdered. 

‭‭Numbers‬ ‭35‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — “The avenger of blood shall put the murderer to death; when the avenger comes upon the murderer, the avenger shall put the murderer to death.”

Deuteronomy‬ ‭32‬:‭43‬ ‭NIV‬‬ — “Rejoice, you nations, with his people, for he will avenge the blood of his servants; he will take vengeance on his enemies and make atonement for his land and people.”
